On the evening of New Year's Eve, a sense of tragedy befell a Lorton, Virginia community. Nahom Beyene, a 42-year-old male, was found shot in the doorway of a residence on Unity Lane. The call came in to law enforcement at approximately 7:32 p.m., and upon their arrival, officers discovered Beyene with trauma to his upper body. Despite the efforts of Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
