Henry Noel Harmon, a Virginia State Police trooper, succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained on January 10, 1960, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. On that fateful day, Trooper Harmon had arrested a man for drunk driving and was transporting him to the jail in Chatham.
