Detective George Ronald Taylor, a dedicated member of the Richmond Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 15, 1986, at the age of 38. Detective Taylor was conducting a routine traffic stop near the intersection of North Davis Avenue and Kensington Avenue when he was fatally shot. The assailant, a convicted murderer who was on parole at the time, used a .44 caliber handgun to commit the crime. This incident occurred just one day before Detective Taylor's 40th birthday.
