In a quiet, wooded area of Henrico County, Virginia, a grim discovery began to unfold on January 11, 1991. Residents living off Evergreen Road were alarmed when their pets brought home what appeared to be a human skull. A subsequent search of the area by the Henrico County Police uncovered additional human remains. The victim was identified as Cynthia Annette Gilliam-Ford, a 28-year-old Black female.
An investigation by the Medical Examiner's Office determined that she had died from a gunshot wound.
The manner of her death led authorities to classify the case as a homicide. For more than three decades, the investigation into who killed Cynthia Gilliam-Ford has continued, but the case has grown cold. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have ever been made in connection with her murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
