On a tragic autumn evening in Richmond, Virginia, the life of 20-year-old Sheryl Lyn Stack was cut short. On October 8, 1993, the young, white waitress was the victim of a brutal attack in the parking lot of the Steak & Ale restaurant where she worked. She was shot with a shotgun during an attempted robbery and succumbed to her injuries two days later, on October 10, 1993. Another individual, Edward Martin, was also shot and severely injured during the incident but survived.
