In the early hours of April 17, 2019, in the small town of Collins, Georgia, the life of 58-year-old Elroy Miller, an African American male, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, Tattnall County EMS received a call about an unresponsive person at a residence on Highway 292. Upon their arrival, first responders discovered Mr. Miller deceased at the scene, prompting an immediate investigation by the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
