In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 19, 1994, the body of Robert McFarland was discovered lying in an alley in the 5800 block of East Hastings Arch in Virginia Beach. Police and rescue personnel, who arrived on the scene at 3:00 a.m., found that McFarland had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was a 31-year-old Black male.
