In the late evening hours of a Sunday in Chesapeake, Virginia, a young man named Antonio Savannah Cash, also known as Paco, found his life cut tragically short at the age of 23. On August 25, 1996, at approximately 10:26 p.m., an argument erupted in the parking lot of the Easy Go convenience store located at 2753 Campostella Road. Antonio, a male, was in a heated dispute with an unknown man.
The verbal altercation escalated with shocking suddenness when the unidentified male produced a
firearm and shot Antonio. After the shot rang out in the night, the assailant fled the scene on foot, disappearing in the direction of Campostella Plaza. The motive for the argument and the subsequent shooting remains a mystery, a question that has lingered for decades.
Despite the passage of time, the case of Antonio Cash's murder remains an open and unsolved homicide. Law enforcement has yet to publicly identify any suspects in connection with his death, and no arrests have been made. The Chesapeake Police Department continues to list his case among their cold case homicides, holding out hope that new information might one day lead to a breakthrough.
