Mary Frances Hall Short, aged 36, was tragically found dead on August 15, 2002, in her home in Oak Level, Virginia. She and her husband, Michael Wayne Short, were both discovered shot to death in what investigators described as execution-style murders. Michael was found on the couch in the garage, where he often watched television, while Mary was found in her bed with her mattress slightly moved and her pillow on the floor.
