Death by Force

David Lee Metzler, a 19-year-old student from Blacksburg, Virginia, was tragically murdered on August 26, 2009. Metzler, along with his friend Heidi Childs, was found shot to death in the Caldwell Fields parking lot of the Jefferson National Forest in Montgomery County, Virginia. The two were sophomores at Virginia Tech and had driven to the secluded area to spend time together. Their bodies were discovered the next morning by a man walking his dog.
