On a summer day in June of 2011, the life of 69-year-old William A. 'Bootsy' Cooper came to a sudden and violent end inside his Hampton, Virginia, home. A lifelong resident of the city and a retiree from the Newport News Forms Company, Cooper was at his Clifton Street residence on June 18th when members of the Hampton Police Department executed a search warrant. Authorities were investigating allegations that Cooper was involved in the sale of prescription painkillers.
