On a cold Christmas Eve in Richmond, Virginia, the life of 19-year-old Ryshawn Maurice Jackson was tragically cut short. Just before midnight on December 24, 2011, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3600 block of Meadowbridge Road. There, they found the young Black male on the ground outside, suffering from gunshot wounds.
