In the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake, Virginia, a tragic incident unfolded on the night of April 11, 2012, forever altering the lives of the Casper family. Jordan James Casper, a 16-year-old male student at Deep Creek High School, was at a mobile home on Deep Creek Boulevard with his older brother, Jeremy Casper. The two brothers, along with a friend, were reportedly drinking and handling a firearm. Around 2 a.m., the gun accidentally discharged, inflicting a fatal wound upon Jordan.
