In the late morning of July 5, 2013, the life of 40-year-old John Thomas Brown was cut short in the first block of Phelps Circle in Hampton, Virginia. A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Brown had been a resident of Hampton for 27 years and was known as a 'Jack of all Trades.' He was a compassionate and free-spirited man whose two great loves were his family and Langley Speedway.
