In the early morning hours of April 27, 2014, the life of 25-year-old Akeim R. Easter, known affectionately as 'Ark,' was tragically cut short in Petersburg, Virginia. A beloved father, brother, and friend, Easter was fatally shot on the porch of his home. The profound sadness of his death was compounded by the fact that he had just returned from serving as a pallbearer at the funeral for four individuals, a mother and her three young children, who had perished in a house fire just blocks away. ...
