In the late hours of a summer night in Hampton, Virginia, the life of 23-year-old Terrance Arrington, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On July 22, 2014, multiple calls reporting shots fired sent Hampton police officers to the 400 block of Catalpa Avenue. In an alley adjacent to a residence, they discovered Arrington's body, bearing the fatal marks of multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
