On August 3, 2023, 24-year-old Solomon Andrew Roane from Chesterfield County, Virginia, was fatally shot in Hampton. The incident occurred just before midnight in the 100 block of Bayhaven Drive, where officers found Roane with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
