On the evening of November 23, 2015, a tragedy unfolded in the parking lot of a McDonald's on Aberdeen Road in Hampton, Virginia, that claimed the life of 25-year-old Antonio Terrell Taylor. An alumnus of Hampton High School where he graduated with honors, and a U.S. Navy veteran, Antonio was discovered with gunshot wounds to his chest and face. He was found lying next to his dark grey Dodge Charger and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics who responded to a call of shots fired at
approximately 6:46 p.m.
The investigation into the death of the Black/African American male revealed that a suspect was seen in the passenger seat of his vehicle just before the shooting occurred. This individual, described as a Black male, was last seen fleeing the area on foot, heading in the direction of the nearby Westhampton Apartments. The Hampton Police Division has been actively investigating the case, but to date, no arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
Antonio, known as 'Tony' to his loved ones, was a promising young man who had participated in the International Baccalaureate program in high school and had also attended Norfolk State University before enlisting in the Navy. His sudden and violent death has left a lasting impact on his family and the wider community. The case remains an active investigation as authorities continue to seek information that may lead to an arrest and bring closure to his grieving family and friends.
