In the late summer of 2016, the life of Desmond L. Holmes, a 32-year-old male, was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. On Sunday, August 21, 2016, Holmes was fatally shot in the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. Reports from the time indicate that the incident occurred on the city's Northside, where residents reported hearing as many as eight gunshots.
