Charles J. Lewis III, aged 53, passed away on January 23, 2017, in Richmond, Virginia. On that morning, Richmond Police Department officers and emergency personnel responded to what was initially believed to be a medical emergency. They found Lewis in the driver's seat of a vehicle stopped in an alley behind the 2400 block of Barton Avenue. While attempting to resuscitate him, they discovered he had been shot. Despite their efforts, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
