Jairo Armando Sanchez-Guardado, a 19-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia, was found dead on July 6, 2018, near the shoreline of Lake Smith/Lawson in Virginia Beach. His body was discovered by two kayakers who immediately alerted the authorities. The Virginia Beach Police Department classified his death as suspicious and launched an investigation.
