In the quiet town of Stuart, Virginia, the life of 30-year-old Misty Dawn Blevins was tragically cut short on October 1, 2018. On that Monday morning, deputies from the Patrick County
Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home on Horace Lane after receiving a chilling call. A family member had discovered two bodies inside the residence. Upon their arrival, law enforcement found Ms. Blevins, who had died from a single gunshot wound. Alongside her was the body of 32-year-old Michael David Lawson, who lived with her. Lawson appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The initial investigation, led by the Patrick County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Virginia State Police, quickly pointed towards a grim conclusion.
