In the evening hours of a Tuesday in Norfolk, Virginia, the life of 28-year-old Vadale Lavon Adams Jr. was tragically cut short. On October 23, 2018, dispatchers received a call reporting a gunshot disturbance in the 1000 block of Mahone Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene around 7:48 p.m., they found Adams suffering from what appeared to be a significant gunshot wound.
