Born on June 30, 1962, to the late Betty Sue Mattingly and Frederick John Gens, Carol was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.
Her life was one surrounded by a large and loving family. She is survived by her daughters, April Bustamante and her husband Basilio of Mount Airy, and Karol Ann Terry of Claudville.
Her memory is also carried on by her step-children, Robert Terry of Trinity, Shannon Rich and her husband of Sophia, and Samantha Smith and her husband of High Point. She was a cherished grandmother to twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Carol also leaves behind a legacy of sibling connection with her sisters, Debra Gallamore, Kimberly Bailey, Donna Gens, Diana Vierling, and Julie Pfaff, and her brothers, Frederic, Mike, and Mark Gens. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Andrea Vaughan.
