On January 21, 2023, in Chilhowie, Virginia, 62-year-old Betty Elizabeth Evans Call was found deceased in her home. Authorities responded to a call around 8 p.m. reporting a domestic incident with possible gunfire at a residence on Warhawk Lane. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Ms. Call's body in the front room and that of 58-year-old Randall C. Rouse in a back bedroom, both with apparent gunshot wounds.
