Sarah Elizabeth Cunningham, aged 46, was found dead on January 22, 2020, in her home in Chilhowie, Virginia. The Smyth County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check at the Cunningham residence on Piedmont Circle, where they discovered the bodies of Sarah and her husband, Chad Robert Cunningham, aged 48. According to Sheriff Chip Shuler, preliminary investigations and autopsy results indicated that both individuals died from gunshot wounds.
