In the summer of 2019, the city of Roanoke, Virginia, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of Justin Elijah Thomas Jennings, a 31-year-old male. On the evening of July 17th, Jennings was inside a car near the intersection of Orange Avenue and 11th Street NW when gunfire erupted. The shooting resulted in his tragic death and also claimed the life of 21-year-old Kyyona Casey, who was in the vehicle with him. A third individual in the car sustained injuries but survived the attack.
