In the early morning hours of July 27, 2019, the life of Trimayne H. Moore, a 46-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Richmond, Virginia. Known affectionately as 'Trey,' Moore was discovered by Richmond Police officers inside a vehicle on the 600 block of Westover Hills Boulevard. He was unresponsive, having sustained a gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner would later confirm that a gunshot wound was the cause of his death.
At the time of his passing, Moore was a dedicated family man and an active member of the Richmond Church of Christ. He was also furthering his education, pursuing a Master's Degree in Nutrition from Liberty University. His death left a void in the lives of those who knew him as a kind-hearted, loving, and loyal individual with a zest for life. A graduate of Irmo High School, he had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bloomfield College and worked as a phlebotomist.
The Richmond Police Department's Major Crimes detectives immediately began an investigation into the homicide. Despite their efforts and public appeals for information, no immediate arrests were made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects were publicly identified. The case remains an open investigation, with authorities continuing to seek any information that could lead to a resolution and bring justice for Trimayne H. Moore and his family. The police have urged anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
