In the predawn hours of August 1, 2019, the life of 39-year-old Jammie Lee Walker, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. in a rear parking lot of the Bloom Apartments on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. When Richmond Police officers responded to reports of gunfire, they discovered Walker and another man, 34-year-old Olajuwon Akeem Elleby, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
