In the fading light of a December evening in South Boston, Virginia, the life of 20-year-old Davonte Shamar Powell was tragically cut short. On that Saturday night, outside a local vape shop, a sudden eruption of violence left Powell with a fatal gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another teenager, a 17-year-old male, was also critically injured in the shooting, having been shot in the neck. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. ...
