Davonte Shamar Powell, a 20-year-old resident of South Boston, Virginia, tragically lost his life on December 7, 2019. He was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head on Old Halifax Road. His younger brother, 17-year-old Tevin Powell, was also critically injured in the same incident, suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. Despite being flown to Duke Hospital, Tevin succumbed to his injuries.
