On Valentine's Day in 2020, 34-year-old Jennifer Norwood and her 6-year-old son, Wyatt, were fatally shot in their Midland, Virginia, home. The tragic discovery was made by Jennifer's husband and Wyatt's father, Joshua Norwood, when he returned home from work. Upon entering the house, Joshua was also shot and wounded by his 17-year-old son, Levi Norwood. Despite his injuries, Joshua was able to flee and call for help.
