On a cold February evening in 2020, Kieshell L. Walker, a 27-year-old Black mother of two, was fatally shot while sitting in her car in the Mosby Court area of Richmond, Virginia. The tragic incident occurred on February 17, when a newer model, silver or gray midsize four-door sedan with a panoramic glass roof pulled up alongside her vehicle and an occupant opened fire.
After being shot, Walker managed to get out of her car before collapsing on the sidewalk at the corner of Redd and Coalter Streets. A friend who was nearby attempted to render aid and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries later that evening. Investigators with the Richmond Police Department believe that Walker was not the intended target of the shooting.
In the wake of the devastating event, Walker's family pleaded with the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible. The Richmond Police Department released a description of the vehicle of interest and sought assistance from the community to identify the car and its occupants. Despite their efforts and the circulation of the vehicle's description, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Kieshell Walker. The case remains an unsolved homicide, leaving a grieving family and community still searching for answers and justice.
