On April 23, 2014, officers from the Richmond Police Department were dispatched to the 2100 block of Mimosa Street following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Ms. Hurd and a man, later identified as Ivan Tyree Bridges, inside a vehicle, both having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
