In a quiet West Springfield, Virginia neighborhood, a long-simmering feud between neighbors erupted into a tragic and fatal confrontation on March 3, 2020. Javon Prather, a 24-year-old male and a Specialist in the Maryland National Guard, was shot and killed in the 7700 block of Bedstraw Court. His neighbor, Michael Hetle, a 52-year-old former police officer and NASA executive, was arrested at the scene.
