In a tragic event that unfolded in Martinsville, Virginia, 90-year-old Lois Irene Cassell was found deceased in her home on Venna Avenue on the evening of May 28, 2020. Her death, caused by a gunshot wound, was later ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke.
