Master Sgt. Andrew Christian Marckesano, a decorated Green Beret known as 'Captain America' among his peers, tragically died by suicide on July 6, 2020, in Alexandria, Virginia. Marckesano, who was 34 years old at the time of his death, had served six full tours in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne and the Ranger regiment, along with several other combat tours overseas.
