On a summer afternoon in Roanoke, Virginia, a dispute in the parking lot of a McDonald's escalated to a fatal conclusion. The incident, which occurred on August 19, 2020, resulted in the death of 21-year-old Sincere Degroat.

According to police reports, Degroat was involved in an altercation with another young man, 18-year-old Arieon Roane. The argument between the two intensified, leading to both individuals reportedly drawing firearms and shooting at one another.
