On a summer afternoon in Roanoke, Virginia, a dispute in the parking lot of a McDonald's escalated to a fatal conclusion. The incident, which occurred on August 19, 2020, resulted in the death of 21-year-old Sincere Degroat.
According to police reports, Degroat was involved in an altercation with another young man, 18-year-old Arieon Roane. The argument between the two intensified, leading to both individuals reportedly drawing firearms and shooting at one another.

services were called to the scene, and both Degroat and Roane were transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of their gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medical staff, Sincere Degroat succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
