On the evening of December 5, 2020, a trip to a Wawa convenience store in Suffolk, Virginia, turned fatal for 18-year-old Torico Reaves Jr. of Virginia Beach. The male teenager was in the parking lot of the establishment located in the 2900 block of Godwin Boulevard when gunfire erupted at approximately 6 p.m. Shortly after the report of shots fired, Reaves arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
