In the early morning hours of July 23, 2021, the life of 20-year-old Malik Elijah Perry was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Chesapeake, Virginia. Perry, a Black male, was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside an apartment complex on Reid Street just after 12:20 a.m. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
