In the winter of 2022, the life of 27-year-old D’Quonn Lee Epps was cut short by an act of gun violence in Portsmouth, Virginia. On the first of February, Epps was fatally shot, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden loss. Another man was also injured in the incident that unfolded on George Washington Highway.
