In the winter of 2022, the city of Petersburg was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 32-year-old Brian Wade Jr. On the afternoon of February 28th, a life was tragically cut short in the 2200 block of Ferndale Avenue. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to find Wade with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe, and he succumbed to them shortly after his arrival.
