In the early hours of June 3, 2025, officers were called to the 2300 block of Navajo Court in Petersburg, Virginia, where a 23-year-old man had been shot and rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. That man was later identified as Tyrone J. Matthews, age 23, gender male.
