In the spring of 2022, a tragic event cut short the life of 23-year-old Alisa Wash, a newlywed from Virginia Beach, Virginia. On April 4, 2022, Alisa and her husband, Talon Rodgers, also 23, were found shot to death in their apartment in the Thalia Gardens complex on Boggs Avenue South. The couple had been married for just over three weeks.
Concern arose when Talon failed to show up for work and friends were unable to reach either him or Alisa.
A friend went to their apartment and, after receiving no answer, spoke with an upstairs neighbor who then contacted the police. Officers who responded to the scene discovered the young couple deceased from gunshot wounds. Investigators quickly determined that the deaths were not the result of a domestic dispute.
The case grew more complex when police announced they were searching for Talon's younger brother, 20-year-old Collin Rodgers, who had been temporarily living with the couple. He was declared an 'endangered adult' due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding his disappearance around the same time as the murders. Collin Rodgers was last seen by his parents on March 27, 2022, a week before his brother and sister-in-law were found dead. Weeks later, he was located and apprehended in New York City on charges unrelated to the homicides. Those charges were later dropped.
As of now, the double homicide of Alisa Wash and Talon Rodgers remains unsolved. The Virginia Beach Police Department has described the investigation as challenging due to the crime occurring inside an apartment, making it difficult to find evidence pointing to a suspect. In an effort to bring forth new leads, Alisa's family has offered a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest, in addition to a smaller reward from Crime Solvers. Friends and family remember Alisa, a motorcycle enthusiast and member of the Reckless Ladies SC, as a kind and vibrant young woman whose life was tragically cut short.
