In the late morning of June 20, 2022, a sense of unease settled over a residential neighborhood in Suffolk, Virginia. An anonymous call to the Suffolk 911 Center at approximately 11:26 a.m. reported a shooting in the 600 block of Matthews Court. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a vehicle containing the body of a young man. The victim was identified as Justin Abel Littlejohn, a 22-year-old Black male from Suffolk. It was determined that he had died from a gunshot wound.
