In the late hours of August 2, 2022, the life of 19-year-old Tavon Johnnie Harris Jr. was tragically cut short in Emporia, Virginia. Harris was discovered in the front yard of a residence on the 500 block of Park Avenue around midnight, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response and life-saving efforts of officers and the Greensville County Rescue Squad, he was pronounced dead at the Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center.
