In the late summer of 2020, the life of a 14-year-old boy, K-Ron Jahlin Nehemiah Surratt, was tragically cut short in Emporia, Virginia. On the morning of September 5th, the sound of multiple gunshots shattered the peace in the 200 block of Briggs Street. When Emporia Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 2:50 a.m., they found a grim discovery: K-Ron had been shot and had died from his wounds.
