In the early morning hours of September 10, 2000, the life of 29-year-old Rashay Macklin, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in his Camden, New Jersey apartment. His body was discovered inside his burned-out residence on the 900 block of Mechanic Street. An investigation into the fire, which was reported around 5 a.m., revealed a more sinister sequence of events. It was determined that an arson had occurred, and that prior to the fire, Macklin had been shot multiple times.
