Braheem Long, a 24-year-old Black man from Salem, New Jersey, was killed just after midnight on June 18, 2014, when gunfire shattered the quiet around the Westside Court housing complex on Front Street. Witnesses and investigators later described how he was struck by multiple bullets, collapsing in the very community where he was known as a devoted father, son, and friend.
