In the late summer of 2014, the life of 20-year-old Quantasia Bessix was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in her hometown of Bridgeton, New Jersey. A Black/African American female, Bessix was not the intended victim of the fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of August 11, 2014. She was on a porch on North Street when a vehicle drove by and shots were fired. Struck in the back as she tried to flee the gunfire, Bessix was gravely wounded.
