In the quiet community of Vernon, New Jersey, a tragic event unfolded that left a family shattered and a community in shock. On the morning of November 6, 2014, police were called to the home of Dean and Cindy Fortino to conduct a welfare check. What they discovered inside would send ripples of grief through the neighborhood. Dean Fortino, a 45-year-old male, and his 41-year-old wife, Cindy, were found deceased in their bed, both having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
